The Minister of Education and first lady of Uganda Janet Museveni rebuked schools over exorbitant fees/ She expressed how disappointing it is for schools to charge very high fees that often end up being used to construct or acquire assets for the school.
She said that would be wrong since the assets remain in the names of the institution.

The issue of exorbitant fees has been an on going issue that parent's have complained about over the years but with no government intervention.
"It's now a standard for schools to increase fees annually. Then schools manufacture needs in the middle of the term. They just tell you we need this amount for this and that." A parent said.
